Department of Conservation & Recreation • Lynn & Nahant, Massachusetts
Though slender, the isthmus that connects the town of Nahant to the mainland has been well-traveled by Nipmucks, colonists, and today strollers and bikers. Our interpretive program, located right on the ever-shifting sands of the beach walk, informs today’s visitors of the historic use, migratory birds, and the challenge of the algae, Pilayella littoralis. Further north, we refreshed an earlier wayside program that highlighted the features of the historical Lynn Parkway.
